Funding Support for SALSA and BRC Activities - May 2012 update
The Safe and Local Supplier Approval (SALSA) scheme provides medium, small and micro suppliers with a robust and effective food safety approval standard that is widely recognised by regional and national organisations. For larger businesses, they may wish to achieve either the British Retail Consortium (BRC) Global Standard for Food Safety or the BRC Global Standard for Storage & Distribution. Certification schemes can create better market access, help manage risk, be of value, raise standards, increase confidence and provide assurance of a safe and responsible supply chain.
If your business is thinking of attaining SALSA or BRC certification for the first time, Seafish and Scottish Food Quality Certification (SFQC) can provide funding for mentoring (pre-audit) support whilst Seafood Scotland is also offering funding support for SALSA and BRC activities.
