Crown Estate Announces New Research for the Shellfish Sector.
The Crown Estate newly established Scotland Portfolio has announced funding for a project to consider the role of co-operative working between shellfish businesses to develop "critical mass" of operations within a sea loch or wider regions. Nick Lake has welcomed this continuing investment in the future of the Scottish shellfish cultivation sector and links to the Aquaculture Vision 2030 targets.
Loch Fyne Oysters recieve ASC standard for responsible farming of Blue mussels, the first company worldwide to do so.
Loch Fyne Oysters Ltd Managing Director Cameron Brown said, “We are very proud to be the first blue mussel farmer in the world to receive this certification from ASC, which is recognition of Loch Fyne Oysters dedication and hard work to provide ethically grown and environmentally friendly mussels to our customers around the globe."
