With the twin issues of climate change and biodiversity loss becoming ever more relevant to our society, it is good to see that within the marine environment our shellfish farming activities are able to help reverse such negative occurrences. While Scottish shellfish cultivation activities are fortunate to be undertaken in some of the more remote locations within the British Isles, the benefits produced remain equally highly relevant.
This short documentary shows the benefits of blue mussel cultivation undertaken at scale and regardless of the location or size of operations, the potential natural biodiversity benefits which can arise. This in addition to the fundamental objective of all shellfish growers - namely delivering high quality and nutritionally beneficial seafood for us all!
